Careers at Beneficent

A/V Technician

Beneficent Congregational Church is a vibrant, progressive church in downtown Providence. We are rich in tradition and driven by a commitment to community service and social justice. Our congregation is racially, culturally, and socio-economically diverse and includes the full spectrum of sexual orientation and gender identity and expression. We believe we can best live into our mission as a Christ-centered church by embracing the beloved community within and around us.

Beneficent Church is seeking a self-motivated, part-time Audiovisual Technician (AV Tech) to record and livestream in-person worship services and occasional other special events, edit the recordings, and upload them to a broadcast platform. The AV Tech also assesses existing audio-video equipment, internet connectivity and broadcast platform and makes recommendations to enhance production quality. The AV Tech reports to the Minister of Music and works cooperatively with the staff team.

The successful candidate will have prior experience working in multimedia production in a live-performance or worship setting, and familiarity with the technical requirements of in-person, virtual and hybrid worship (including audio-video equipment, editing software and broadcast platforms).

This is a part-time, non-benefited position for three (3) hours per worship service or special event. Worship services are on Sunday mornings, and there are additional services during certain seasons (e.g. Christmas and Holy Week).
