Langston’s Harlem Nights2!

You asked, and we listened…you’re invited to Langston’s Harlem Nights2! Several asked, “When’s the next one?” Others requested it happen twice a year, at least quarterly, and one said, “Please do it monthly.” Well, we heard you and it’s back! The Langston Hughes Community Poetry Reading (LHCPR) Fundraiser Committee asks that you please Save This Date – November 23, 2024 – for Langston’s Harlem Nights2, the cultural immersion fundraiser of the fall!

This evening fundraiser will again be in the spirit of the Harlem Renaissance, an old-fashioned rent party with live jazz, themed drinks, hors d’oeuvres, a Best Dressed competition, poetry and so much more! Proceeds will benefit our year-long community building and awareness work, including our annual Langston Hughes Community Poetry Reading that turns 30 in 2025!  “The Langston Hughes Community Poetry Reading is one of the most important organizations in the state and in this region,” Providence Arts, Culture and Tourism (ACT) Director Joe R. Wilson Jr. said. “… This organization speaks to the importance of our cultural heritage assets which are held by, and scaffolded by, people of color.” Watch his full comments, others’ thoughts and a recap of the fun we had at Harlem Nights2023 with the video below.

It is our goal to raise $50,000 with this fundraiser, and we know we will hit it with your attendance to Harlem Nights2, your sponsorships, and your donations. You can learn more about this event and sponsor opportunities in the 2024 LHCPR Sponsor Packet. Be on the lookout for more information, but tickets are on sale NOW . It will sell out, so don’t miss your chance to join the fun for a necessary cause.
